Meet the Doctors

  • Dr. Nathan Karpinsky
    Chiropractor, Cofounder

    Dr. Nathan Karpinsky is from Plymouth Wisconsin, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay with a Bachelor of Science major degree in Human Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He is also the Valedictorian of his graduating class from the well-known and respected National University of Health
    Sciences in Lombard, Illinois. Upon graduating, Dr. Karpinsky received The Joseph Janse Outstanding Graduate Award which is given to students for outstanding contributions to National University.

    During his time at National University, Dr. Karpinsky has been extensively trained in evidence-based medicine to provide whole health healing to patients and to be a well prepared first-contact, primary care physician, ready to diagnose, treat and manage a wide range of patients and conditions. Dr. Karpinsky is one of only 400 elite providers in North America for Active Release Techniques. He has had extensive training to be of elite standing with Active Release Techniques and is one of the few “full body” certified active release technique providers in the state. He is also a certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner, and has a training background in functional movement assessments and rehabilitation.

    Dr. Karpinsky has also provided treatment for the drivers and crews of various race teams in the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship series. Some of the races he has treated at include the world-famous Rolex 24 at Daytona, 12 hours of Sebring, and the Petit Le Mans. He also provided treatments for athletes in various sports ranging from Baseball, Football, Track, and many more at Benedictine University in Illinois. He also treated and volunteered at mixed martial arts events, Chicago Half Marathon, and multiple 5K events throughout Chicago and Charleston.

    Dr. Karpinsky moved to Mount Pleasant in the summer of 2012 with his wife Nikki and couldn’t be happier. Dr. Karpinsky and his wife Nikki also have a daughter Haylie, and a son Evan. It’s his goal to grow and make the community a better and healthier place.

  • Dr. Paul Kukes
    Chiropractor, Cofounder

    Dr. Paul Kukes grew up in Anchorage, Alaska where he trained as a dancer and gymnast for over 15 years. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. Following graduation Paul worked as a Certified Personal Trainer in Arizona as well as performed professionally as an actor in multiple musicals in the Phoenix area. In 2008, he was accepted to the National University of Health Sciences in Illinois to study for his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree.

    While attending National, Paul worked as an anatomy teacher’s assistant and privately tutored hundreds of students in head and neck anatomy lab. He also worked with the advanced rehabilitation courses as a teacher’s assistant, utilizing his knowledge from his training background. This experience allowed Dr. Kukes to work at Benedictine University with many collegiate athletes including, baseball, football, and track. In December of 2011 Dr. Kukes achieved one of his goals by becoming a full body certified Active Release Technique (ART) provider.

    Paul also volunteered his time and services to work with mixed martial arts fighters, multiple 5k and half marathons, as well as watching the 1-2 year olds at his Church’s nursery once per month. After graduating from National, Paul and his wife, Abby, moved from Chicago to Mt. Pleasant, SC to open Elite Health Solutions with his fellow classmate, Dr. Karpinsky. Since then, he has worked with many professional and semi-professional athletes in various sports including, baseball, soccer, distance running, gymnastics, and track. In his free time, Paul enjoys running with his wife, working out, drinking fine wines, and playing with his three children, Jackson, Peyton Reid, Fielden, and his two dogs Chandler and Rambo. Elite Health Solutions’ goal is to help people regain their health, improve their performance, and enjoy their lives.

  • Dr. Sandy Arthur
    Associate Chiropractor

    Dr. Sandy Arthur is from Sarasota, Florida, and graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors of the Arts, majoring in Art History, before changing careers paths to become a chiropractor.
    During her college years, Dr. Arthur experienced various injuries including a severely sprained ankle that kept her out of the gym and off the tennis court. It was then that she discovered Active Release Technique and within three treatments, could run and jump without any swelling or pain in her ankle after six months of pain. This massive improvement lead Dr. Arthur to want to pursue a health and wellness career which lead her to chiropractic medicine.

    At Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Arthur became immersed in the health and wellness field and spent hours inside and out of the classroom learning to become a primary care physician and how to treat and diagnose patients with a variety of physical ailments. Dr. Arthur taught other students Soft Tissue techniques and manual therapy while in school, and became the Clinician Teaching Assistant for her clinic. She became Full Body certified in Active Release Technique during her last year of chiropractic schooling. She is certified in Level 1 HawkGrips or IASTM. She is currently working on becoming certified in Acupuncture to expand her ability to care for patients.
    Dr. Arthur has treated patients from all walks of life and looks forward to serving her new community in Mount Pleasant, SC. She has worked on bodybuilders, swimmers, tennis players, long distance runners, stay at home moms and dads, and office workers to name a few.
     
    In her free time, Dr. Arthur enjoys painting her art and playing tennis. She is a Private Pilot and loves to be involved in the aviation community. On a weekend, if she isn’t in the office helping people, you can most likely find Dr. Arthur at a local coffee shop or in the blue skies.
